Junior Colts 2011-12 Fixtures and Results

“World Record – A Note Of Thanks From Junior Colts

As you may be aware on Friday 2nd Sept the Junior Colts successfully obtained Liverpool Collegiates first ever Guinness World Record (506 conversion kicks in 1 hour)

Our evidence submission will soon be delivered to GWR and then we wait for the certificate to be returned to us and it’s all official. It was a great night for the club and would not have been possible without people giving up their free time. So apologies if I do inadvertently miss somebody but I would like to thank the following without whom this would not have been possible:

- all spectators for their support and encouragement on the night

- junior colts coaches for the hard work beforehand getting the players ready for the attempt

- junior colts players, doesn’t matter what role you were handed on the night, you performed impeccably as a team

- anybody who bought a raffle ticket, we raised over £100 towards restocking the servery

- the leg waxers and waxes who raised £115

- the team of ‘helpers’

- Chris Jones (referee)

- Simon Taylor (referee)

As a by-product of this event, twinned with the Colts Academy Relaunch, we were also able to further raise the profile of the club:

- two mentions on Radio City (although nobody seems to have heard either!)

- one mention on Radio Merseyside (ditto!)

- RFU press release

- a feature in the next edition of RFUs Touchline online magazine

- a feature in the Nov edition of RUGBYWORLD magazine (only the biggest rugby magazine in the world!), out early October

To top all that on Sunday the Junior and Senior Colts both won their first Colts League fixtures, making it a top weekend all round for the Academy.
