A Happy and Prosperous New Year to Everyone.
However I have disturbing news to bring. There is an as yet unconfirmed rumour that the captain of the U16s team received a set of something called 'Hair Straighteners' for Christmas. Apparently with this device it is possible to straighten ones hair - though why one should be bothered to do this is a question that has not yet been answered. Indeed the matter of why one should have hair long enough to need straightening is also under investigation
Call me an unreconstructed old fuddy duddy but the only straighteners I've ever had have been the first pints drunk the day after the night before
As a salutory lesson to anybody else in the team who is thinking pursuing a similar path I present the following photograph as evidence of the damage that these 'straighteners' can do to one's character and reputation

Last season finished with the team winning the Blackstick Blue u15s Lancashire Cup beating Preston Grasshoppers 17-13 in the final. Tries from Jay Hall, Michael Sexton and a crucial score from Jonathan Matthews won the game for Liverpool as skipper Tom Chadwick struck a conversion. Sam Whyte opened the scoring for Preston with a controversial try which was converted by Oliver Farley, who also struck two penalties as Preston struggled to break down some superb Collegiate defence.
Well done to Mark, Mick and Fran, but especially to all the lads.
