Child Protection Policy

We at Liverpool Collegiate Rugby Club believe that we have a moral obligation to ensure, when given responsibility for children and young adults, that coaches and officials provide them with the highest possible standard of care.

To this end we have put together the following ;

1. We must recognise the responsibility of all those involved in coaching or officiating any sport at the club is to safeguard and promote the interests and well-being of the children and young adults with whom they are working.

2. We must take reasonable practical steps to protect children from harm, discrimination or degrading treatment and in doing so respect their rights, wishes and feelings.

3. We do recognise that abuse does take place in sport and that awareness and understanding of the main forms of abuse and an appropriate reporting procedure if abuse is suspected will safeguard the children, young adults and coaches and others working in sport at our club.

Principles Statement

Players welfare is paramount.

Players regardless of age, culture, disability, gender, language, racial origin, religious belief or sexual identity have the right to protection from abuse.

All suspicions and allegations of abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately.

Anyone under the age of 18 years should be considered as a young person.
