We are pleased to announce Steve has accepted our offer to take on the role of club coach for the 2014-15 season.

Steve is a former international Referee and member of England World Cup 2003 Winning Management team.

Following a teaching career spanning 20 years and four Secondary schools in Oxfordshire, and the Wirral, Steve took up an opportunity to work full- time at what was his hobby, Rugby Union Refereeing. In 1999 he began a “second career” which has taken him to the International Board Referees Panel and afforded him the opportunity to travel around the world refereeing the world’s top matches. He has officiated in 63 Internationals, 19 as referee, in 17 different countries, these include 2 World Cup Competitions, 2 World Cup 7’s Competitions, the Six Nations and Tri Nations’ in addition to the European and Domestic Premiership matches.

He worked with the England Team that won the Rugby World Cup in Australia. His role, as part of Sir Clive Woodward’s Management Team, was to advise coaches and players on recent trends in the laws, and to “educate” the players in order to concede as few penalties as possible in the matches. Managing sporting teams, whether on or off the field, requires specific strategies, there is however, considerable carry over into all forms of management.
